Welcome to The Lighthouse Swim, a 2½-mile open water swim across the beautiful Hudson River, beginning in Nyack, New York, and finishing at Kingsland Point Park in Sleepy Hollow, New York. 

Your participation supports Feeding Westchester and other local nonprofit organizations while giving you the opportunity to experience one of the Hudson Valley's premier open water swims. Please review the following information before swim day.

Event Schedule 

Check-In: 6:15 AM

Location: Kingsland Point Park, Sleepy Hollow, NY

All swimmers must check in before boarding the buses. There is no same-day registration.

Bus Departure: 7:30 AM (Promptly)

Buses will transport swimmers from Kingsland Point Park to the Municipal Boat Launch next to Memorial Park in Nyack, where the swim will begin.

Registration

The registration fee is $300.

$100 helps cover the cost of producing the event.

$200 benefits local nonprofit organizations, primarily Feeding Westchester.

Your registration includes:

Entry into The Lighthouse Swim

Bus transportation from Sleepy Hollow to Nyack

Official Lighthouse Swim T-shirt

Official Lighthouse Swim swim cap

A safety swim buoy, if you do not already have one.

Pizza after the swim

There will be water and bathroom facilities available on the Nyack side before the swim begins.

What You Can Bring on the Bus

Please bring only the items you will need for the swim:

• Goggles
• Swim cap
• Safety buoy

Any approved swim equipment T-shirt, pants, and shoes to wear on the bus ride to Nyack. Swim bags are not permitted on the bus.

A bag check will be available at Kingsland Point Park in Sleepy Hollow before boarding. A volunteer will remain with the bags during the event.

Please do not bring valuables. While we will do our best to safeguard your belongings, The Lighthouse Swim cannot be responsible for lost or misplaced items.

Required Safety Equipment

For the safety of all participants:

Every swimmer must wear a swim safety buoy throughout the swim.

Every swimmer must wear a brightly colored swim cap.

An official Lighthouse Swim swim cap will be provided to every participant. If you do not already own a safety buoy, one will be provided for your use.

Swimmers without a safety buoy will not be permitted to enter the water.

Approved Swim Equipment

The following equipment is permitted:

• Wetsuits
• Swim fins
• Hand paddles

If you choose to wear a wetsuit, you must complete the swim wearing it. There is no place to remove or store equipment once you are in the river.

Full-face swim masks are not permitted.

Everything you bring into the river must come out of the river with you.

Course Information:

The course will be clearly marked with safety buoys from start to finish.

River conditions can occasionally move the buoys, so swimmers should always follow the directions of event kayakers and safety personnel.

Time Limits

Swimmers have three hours to complete the course.

For safety reasons, swimmers must cross the main shipping channel within two hours. Anyone who has not reached that point may be moved forward by event safety personnel.

Kayak Support

Personal kayak escorts are not required.

Volunteer kayakers will be positioned throughout the course to provide guidance and assistance.

If you know someone who would like to volunteer as a kayaker, we would love to have them join us.

Volunteers can register through RunSignUp as a Kayak Volunteer.

Age Requirement: Participants must be at least 14 years old.

Swimmers under the age of 18 must have the consent of a parent or legal guardian.

Accessibility

The Lighthouse Swim welcomes participants of all abilities, including individuals with physical disabilities.

We are committed to providing an inclusive open water swimming experience. To ensure appropriate accommodations, such as a kayak guide or other logistical support, participants requiring assistance should notify us well in advance.

Proof of prior open water swimming experience is required for all participants.
